The roots

Smiling woman in a yellow floral dress outdoors.

Welcome—I'm glad you're here.

I believe healing happens when your brain, body, and emotions work together instead of against each other. My goal is to provide a compassionate, collaborative space where you feel safe to explore the patterns that have kept you stuck and discover new ways of connecting with yourself and others.

Many of the people I work with are thoughtful, insightful, and have spent years trying to understand why they continue to experience anxiety, relationship challenges, or the lasting effects of trauma. They may have learned coping skills or gained valuable insight, yet something still feels unresolved. Healing is not just about understanding your story. It is also about helping your nervous system experience safety, regulation, and connection.

My approach integrates Somatic Experiencing®, EMDR, attachment based therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and other evidence based approaches to support healing in both the mind and body. Every treatment plan is tailored to your unique experiences, goals, and strengths because no two healing journeys are the same.

Whether you are navigating anxiety, trauma, life transitions, relationship difficulties, or simply feeling disconnected from yourself, therapy offers a place to slow down, gain clarity, and create meaningful, lasting change. Together, we will work at a pace that feels supportive while helping your brain and body move from survival to connection.

My Philosophy

I do not believe you are broken. I believe your mind and body have adapted in remarkable ways to help you survive difficult experiences. Therapy is about understanding those adaptations with compassion, strengthening your nervous system's capacity for safety and resilience, and helping you reconnect with the life you want to live.

Credentials

I am a Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker (LSCSW) in Kansas and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Missouri. I have advanced training in Somatic Experiencing®, EMDR Certified, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), attachment based therapy, and trauma informed psychotherapy. I work with adults seeking deeper healing from trauma, anxiety, stress, relationship challenges, and life transitions. I believe every person has an innate capacity for growth and healing when provided with the right support.

Choosing a therapist is a deeply personal decision, and the right fit matters. If my approach resonates with you, I would be honored to walk alongside you on your healing journey.

Mind-Body Therapy at Mindful Health Therapy

Individual Therapy

One-on-one counseling is provided in a trauma-informed space with unconditional positive regard for teens, and adults. Therapy can help you build mindfulness tools to manage your symptoms, process through traumas that may be contributing to these uncomfortable symptoms, and create an understanding of the self and why you are experiencing some of your symptoms.

EMDR & Trauma Therapy

Many individuals can experience symptoms associated with painful and traumatic circumstances. Anxiety, fear, and hopelessness are a few emotions that can linger after such events, or experiences. Now, more than ever, we are understanding the long-term and pervasive effects that trauma can have on a person's well-being. Trauma can stem from a single violent traumatic event, or events that typically don't involve violence or disaster, but do create significant distress. Fortunately, there are evidence-based treatments that relieve present-day symptoms of anxiety and depression through reprocessing of the past. One modality that I am certified in is called Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Other highly effective models that I incorporate are called Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Somatic Experiencing. These therapies are ideal for persons wanting to learn more about how they were impacted by traumatic experiences and are ready to reprocess the events to reduce their effects.

Somatic Experiencing® (SE) Therapy

Somatic Experiencing® (SE) Therapy is a gentle, body-based approach to healing trauma and chronic stress. Rather than focusing solely on thoughts or memories, SE helps individuals tune into physical sensations to safely release stored tension and restore the nervous system’s natural balance. This evidence-informed method can reduce anxiety, improve emotional resilience, and support overall well-being by empowering the body’s innate capacity to heal.
